Greetings to the friends of Ward 16,
As the leaders of tomorrow, I believe that our voices matter. The youth citizenry in the City of Toronto plays such a vital role in maintaining the vibrancy of our community. My name is Aimee Li, I am currently a Grade 9 student attending Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute, and I want to be there to help guide every step of the way towards an improved city.
As a relatively new resident of Ward 16, I was quick to notice the astounding versatility of the community. I immediately became inspired by the diversity and forthcomingness of the neighbourhood. However, despite many positive remarks, I do believe there is always room for improvement. Especially with Premier Doug Ford making cuts to our education funding, the time for us to find our voices and to be heard is now.
Recently, I have volunteered for Rob Oliphant's 3rd annual job fair, allowing me familiarity with the new environment as well as providing me with experience and connections.
Toronto is an amazing city, and I want you to rest assured that you are in good hands. I will listen to you. I will make sure all ideas are heard and considered.
I will be your voice; allowing your ideas to be heard.
Please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions or concerns! I can be reached via email: firstname.lastname@example.org; phone: 4162002691 or Instagram: aime._.e
Hi! My name is Xiongxiong and I'm in Grade 10. I go to school in Don Valley West. While I do believe in change and fair representation, I don't believe in resumé padding. That's why I promise to give this experience my full commitment and listen to YOUR needs.
As President of Debate Club, a member of a provincial Youth Council, a brand ambassador for Junior Achievement, and the CEO of my own JA company, I was able to refine my leadership, collaboration, and listening skills. I learned that a successful leader isn't necessarily the best at every component, but rather someone who is dedicated and commmitted to listening to their peers. Whether it's a compliment or criticism, I'll always take it in stride and try to improve from it.
To prove my dedication to this position, I'm willing to halt the commitments I listed above as soon as they start to take away from my ability to be a good Youth Councillor for my community. I'll release my platform soon, and in the meantime, feel free to message me on Facebook, email me (email@example.com), or text me (647-978-3989). I'm happy to listen to any suggestions, and I'm excited to hear what you want for our community.
