Hi everyone! I’m Andrew, and I’m from University of Toronto Schools, hoping to represent you, as your youth councilor in Toronto-Centre.
I’ve always been interested in politics. While everyone else in Grade 3 was watching cartoons, I was watching CBC and following Trudeau get swept to victory in 2015. More recently, I’ve been voicing my opinions on Twitter and volunteering.
In my experience volunteering with MPs, Joe Cressy (the city councilor for Spadina-Fort York), and John Tory, I’ve learned a lot. But one of my biggest takeaways is that there is no such thing as too much work when it comes to politics. Politicians work day and night to make sure they are representing their community. Especially with the reduction of city councilors by the Ford government, there’s going to be a lot of work for city councilors, and I’ll be there every step of the way, working hard to represent you.
Toronto is an absolutely beautiful city, with all its parks, shops, and people. And in many ways, Spadina-Fort York is the heart of it all, with a stunning waterfront and many intricate communities. I’ll do all that I can to not only keep it that way but improve upon what we already have.
