The City Youth Council (CYC) is a youth-run, federally registered not-for-profit corporation on a mission to foster civic participation among young people in Toronto. We operate an elected, model city council made up of 12- to 24-year olds from every ward. We are focused on empowering youth to influence public policy, participate in community development, and learn more about our municipal government through participation.

Now in its ninth year, the CYC is the Toronto’s only democratically elected city-wide youth council. Over 5000 people voted in our 2016 election.

If you are between 12 and 24, you can join. As a member of the CYCTO, you can start conversations that are important to you. You can connect with youth from all across the GTA. You can have a life-changing experience that will impact your neighbourhood, your community and your city.

Through 2020, all City Youth Council of Toronto meetings, events, and activities will be held remotely over Microsoft Teams.
